I have been struggling when it comes to printing the documents when driving or delivering any loads, but with this printer i don’t have to worry anymore, its really working amazingly, i suggest this item to anybody traveling and have no access to printer, it saved me a lot of trouble and so many stops

I have been using Cannon Pixma portable printers for the past 15 years, and wanted to get a smaller design, with a built in battery. The Epson Workforce WF-110 fit my needs to the tee. I purchased the unit on June 1, and have now owned and operated the machine for 45 days. Based on this usage, it is strikingly clear that the operating expenses for this machine is much more than what I had with my Pixma printers.

1- Even when printing at the lowest draft quality, the ink cartridges do not last as long, and I am having to change cartridges about 50% more frequently than with Pixma. It used to take me about 6 weeks of use before I had to replace my Pixma cartridges. These cartridges last only about 4 weeks at the same level of use as when I used the Pixma. For the Epson Workforce, it costs about $40 for a combo pack of a single black ink cartridge and single color cartridge, while for the Pixma it costs about $41 for a combo back of 2 black ink cartridges and 1 color cartridge. So not only do the Pixma catriges last longer, they are cheaper, considering the two black cartridges. My rough estimate is that my ink costs have gone up by about $20 a month, for an annualized increase of $240.

2) An annoying feature of the Workforce is that when the low ink notification goes off, its prevents the printer from printing. With my previous Cannon Pixma, the low ink notification could be overridden, and thus I was able to override the notification, and continue printing until the cartridge was actually empty. Since I cannot override the Epson low ink notification, I am being forced to change the cartridges even when the print quality is not suffering due to low ink.

3- The Epson also frequently generates lines in the printed document. This requires printer head cleanings, which means that I will have to reprint the effected pages, which of course wastes ink. Also, even when the low ink notice has not appeared, but the ink level graphic indicator shows low, print head cleaning is not allowed, and requires a replacement of the ink cartridges before the printer head cleaning can be done. It appears to me that the frequent print head cleaning wastes precious ink, further accelerating ink use.

4- The Epson Workforce 110 features a removable “maintenance box.” This appears to capture excess ink. When the box is full, it needs to be replaced. The cost of the box is about $12 after sales tax. Under my use, the box fills up after about 4 weeks. Extrapolating over the year, this comes to an additional operating cost of $144. The pixma does have a system to capture excess ink, but under my use, it takes about 4 years for this to fill up.

If I knew back in June what I know today, I would NOT have purchased this Epson Workforce WF 110 printer, as my operating costs are about about $380 more a year than when using Pixma. Given that the printer itself cost $350 after tax, the extra operating cost is more than the cost of the printer. It is now past the return date for this printer, and I am now stuck paying for overpriced ink. To add insult to injury, it appears to me that the printer is either poorly designed to allow optimal ink usage, or purposely designed to maximize ink cartridge sales, with the added benefit of maximizing sales of maintenance boxes.

I like this printer Epson WF-110 it’s great but my only problem is that I need to buy more color Ink because I’m a student from college and I’m studying fashion. I also forget the (Ink 215) DO NOT GET THE Ink (215 I) because I ran out the color Ink and I added that comes with the box and it didn’t accepted. So look out for the (Ink 215) with no letter nothing. Also get a (Epson paper) just like that just search it up and it pops out so yeah that’s yet hope this helps

Epson hasn’t built something for PORTABLE occasional printing

Literally just threw it out – and only went through ONE cartridge. That is how awful it is. This was our SECOND one of these. Thought the first awful one was a fluke so bought another. Yup, didn’t even return the first one because I’m busy and don’t have time for all that. I could drive to Staples, pay to have my documents printed and drive back to where I’m staying in less time – and for less money – then trying to print on this awful thing. Ink – well, be prepared to be replacing that about 20 pages. Partly because if you don’t use it for about 2 weeks the nozzles all clog (dry out) so you have to run it through a nozzle check and head cleaning TWICE to get it to print again. This is not a desktop printer that you use all the time – this is portable, meaning it is for the person who has to print on occassion. But you better take it out, set it up, and print something at least every 4 or 5 days or you will blow through all your ink – and your TIME – just getting it to spit out something printed. It refuses to stay connected via bluetooth which means I have to pull it out, set it up, connect the power cord (because won’t hold a charge in the box for even a couple days) then run the nozzle check, clean the print head, run the nozzle check a second time, then clean the heads a second time, NOW add paper and print. And be prepared to hold the edge of the paper and guide it or else it won’t go through straight. Yep, this thing is worthless.

Inkjet printers have existed since the 1980s and Windows 10 has been around since 2014. How is it possible in this golden age of technology that a tech company could have such a difficult time providing something as fundamentally basic as a printer that simply prints a document sent from Windows? Seriously, Epson? Is it too much to hope for that when I press print that a document with comes out of the printer without having to reboot or reinstall a driver or spend hours on the internet looking for obscure solutions for your poorly executed product? I am not trying anything exotic like cloud printing a PowerPoint from my Android phone from halfway around the world. I am sitting at a laptop on my home network printing a test page. With all the money you make from the replacement ink, there should be a little budget somewhere to hire at least one developer who could track down the bugs and and address some of the reliability issues.

It is an understatement to say that this printer has been one gigantic frustration. How long did I spend wondering why the “next” button was grey out on the install until I realized I needed to click on the picture of the printer in the dialog? More than I wanted. I am not a tech idiot. I know more than enough about printers, drivers, networking, and software development which means I know this is probably not a chair to keyboard interface problem. If it is, then it is one caused by Epson’s inability to make something usable by mere mortals. I also don’t accept the cheerful “we care so please contact support and we will work it out for you” suggestions that always gets posted as a response to these negative reviews by image management companies hired by tech companies like Epson who are to preserve sales of poorly executed products. Anything support will tell me to do is already available on the web and I have already tried it. Plus, should I really have to spend 4 hours on a weekend trying to get something as trivial as an inkjet printer to work? This is not complicated technology. It should just work, out of the box, period. IMHO, this printer is a symbol of the complete lack of respect Epson has for the user experience. I am sorry I bought it.

This is a great little, space saving printer except for the fact that it runs out of ink every time you turn around. You can get maybe, maybe.. 50 pages out of a cartridge and that’s a little crazy in my opinion. Add to that the fact that you have to use Epson cartridges just adds to the pain and cost. But it prints pretty good.

I usually don’t leave a review on anything but after spending so much on this printer just for it to not work, I feel like I have no choice but to leave a negative review. I’ve followed every step and every instruction just for this printer to only work one time and malfunction. I wouldn’t waste my money buying one of these printers again. The concept is good but it’s difficult to set up and apparently malfunctions quite easily.

Worked great for a year. Then experienced a hardware failure a month after the warranty expired. Epson trouble shooting over the phone consisted of turning it off then back on. Then they said I needed to go buy another printer. No option to reset the printer. Buyer beware…
