Measuring Guide

To easily measure your child’s feet at home, just download and print our guide.

Don’t have a printer? Simply follow the steps below.

  1. Place a piece of paper on a flat surface. Have your child stand barefoot on the paper. (For babies and walkers, you may need to hold the paper up to their feet.)
  2. Place a mark at the longest toe and back of the heel.
  3. Measure the distance between the marks and use the conversion chart to find their shoe size.
  4. Measure both feet. If one foot is larger than the other, fit to the larger foot.

Shoe Fit Tips

  • Remember to measure their feet every three to four months. (Kids grow an average of half a size every three months!)
  • There should be about a half inch between the end of the longest, fully extended toe and the end of the shoe.
  • Fit the widest part of the foot to the widest part of the shoe so it bends with the bend of the foot.
  • Buy your baby’s first pair of shoes as they begin to take their first steps. First walker shoes are designed specifically for their needs with features that improve stability and support, like rounded, nonslip soles and high-density rubber bridges.
